I provide individual therapy sessions as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland to teens and adults. I have clinical experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, school difficulties, and challenging relationship issues. In the therapy space, I aim to help create a welcoming environment where you feel safe to be yourself. My therapy approach lays on a trauma-informed, social justice foundation – this means I consider and integrate the effects of trauma, systematic oppression, and social factors during our time together. I utilize a person-centered approach, so you are leading the therapy session while I gently guide. I realize this approach is not for everyone, so I am as directive as you need! We will discuss different perspectives; identify unpleasant emotions; challenge unhelpful thinking
patterns; and much more during our time together. I want you to trust the process and me so much that you feel comfortable enough to let me know when your comfortability is broken even if you don’t like confrontation. I am happy to answer any and all questions at any point during the process! My hope is you leave therapy feeling heard and valued while making positive changes to your life.

As a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist I love to work with families, couples, and individuals. I specialize in working with clients who may be experiencing behavioral issues, ADHD, depression, anxiety, or trauma. I am also passionate about working with teens or young adults as they develop their own personalities and prepare to launch into adulthood. My main goal for the therapy process is to create an empathetic, safe, and authentic space for the family, couple, or individual to grow and find their strengths and abilities to live life to their fullest. Working from a Structural Family Therapy model I take pride in helping families discover and adjust their roles, dynamics, and patterns for a positive living experience at home through essential change. I also enjoy utilizing an attachment-based approach with couples along with strategic concepts to help solve goals and help provide tools in moments of conflict.

Eileen Gillette, LGMFT

With five decades of life experience, over 20 years as a mom to an adult child with autism who is non-verbal, and 18 years of experience as an elementary education teacher, I bring a broad perspective shaped by both personal and professional experience.  Through this journey, I’ve discovered valuable insights into navigating relationship challenges, trauma recovery and PTSD, sexual abuse, anxiety and depression, life transitions, and autism.

I am deeply passionate about providing compassionate support to parents of children with special needs, couples and individuals navigating relationships, and those in their retirement years.  My goal is to help you discover the best version of yourself while focusing on what you can control in your life.

As a Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist, I recognize the generational connections within families and use a systemic approach to therapy.  I incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFCT and EFIT) into my work, guiding clients to discover not only deeper emotional connections but also new ways of understanding their needs, ultimately creating healthier relationships.

My versatility, curiosity, and openness allow me to support individuals, couples, families, and the LGBTQIA+ community.  I’m skilled at developing respectful, trusting relationships, believing strongly in the power of resilience, optimism, and the ongoing discovery of one’s personal strengths.  Above all, I am always eager to learn more about people and how I can best support them on their unique journey.
